You are at page <Why the Arab Prophet and God's Book in Arabic (Arabic Qur'an)?
People ask why should they believe in an Arab Prophet (Muhammad or Mohammad-peace be upon him)? Question may also be in this way: Why should God have chosen a Prophet from amongst the Arabs who were most backward people of those times (1,400 years before)? Why is God's book in Arabic Language?
We can have lots of answers to the above questions. However it is very easy to convince why?
As you know, if you are a very good tennis player, you have your own preferences and you will buy your shoes, rackets etc from a particular company, made in a particular country. Because you want the best. That is upto you and none has authority over you in this regard.
If you are a film director, you want to chose the best actors and the best locations and materials.
But here in this case God Almighty Allah chose the Arabs, for various reasons which we can understand in our limited human intellect capacity as:
1. Arabs were living in the harsh climate in the Arabian Peninsula. The natural resources were scarce. Life was very difficult due to this. So they are a people who were given to a struggling way of life.
2. The City of Makkah was in Arabia and there the First House of God known as Ka'aba was built by Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismael-peace be upon him (as the center point for all the worshippers of One True God Allah), before 4000 years after he migrated from Iraq due to the oppression by the idolworshipper King and his party there for being a Muslim or Moslem (the follower of Allah's Monothiest Religion-Al Islam).
3. They were sea farers and business people in general. So they knew the sea routes and foreign lands and they had contacts with other people and their kings/tribal chiefs. Due to business with other people, they knew very good acumen of business, commerce and public relations.
4. Arabs were very famous for courage, warfare and honoring the guests.
All the above qualities were the pre-requisites for spreading of God's Message. Their bad qualities were to be converted into good ones by the Grace of God due to the 23 years of constant preaching and struggle by Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him. His Great manners and examples of setting the wrongs in a right and just way paved the way for Arabs becoming the leaders in the field of Religion.
5. The Arabic language had such linguistic beauty, eloquence and ways to express God's words and God who sent Holy Qur'an in Arabic must be knowing better than all of us why He should have chosen the Arabic Language. God is not biased but His Message must be conveyed to the people in the most beautiful manner. If you know Arabic, you will agree that we all will vote for Arabic only as the language for Allah Almighty's Book-Al Qur'an.
