Do You Have Any Objections? :

Some non-Muslims object to Azan and think that it is a call meant for to frighten them by gathering Muslims.  Here, on this page, the fact about Azan is made quite clear.  It is expected of them to use their clear conscience and guide them towards Truth, like a sailor guides his boat or ship towards the safety during abnormal conditions of voyage. Do you then try to live in the world of fantasy and hype created by the Ignorant?

Be a guiding force for others.  Swim against the tide, in the Direction shown by God, like a live fish does. Don't be swept away by the waves of false propaganda, like the plight of a dead fish. Defend God Almighty Allah's Words - Holy Qur-an and Religion Islam.  He will surely defend and protect you always. Examples are aplenty in the Holy Qur-an and the History. Please read Holy Qur-an and see for yourself.

People read the news papers and watch TV news and believe without questioning what they say.  But it is the bad luck of a person, if he dislikes to hear, read and believe Holy Qur-an's words which are from God Almighty Allah alone. But the time may be still there,  to realize this greatest wrong done (to the self-the soul) by a person's tiny mind. Mind's desires can destroy both body and the soul.  So don't allow your mind to ride over you.  Start to ride over your mind from today itself.  Make a practice of it, now!  As they say, practice makes a man perfect.

Then you will find out how beautiful is the words of God.  Did not Prophet Dawood or David, gather animals and birds when He hymned the praises of Lord Allah (by reading the Psalms), because God had taught him the language of the animal world? When the Holy Qur-an is recited or being discussed, the Angels record the names of the participants and they are enlisted with the Highly Honorable people with God.  Do you want to miss this greatest Reward by believing some falsehood monger's words and to satisfy such people? Is not your own safety and well- being important to you?  Do you think that you live for the sake of others by doing such things? Or will you  think and decide of
rushing towards Allah, Who is the Only Savior and Protector and the Guide of the Whole mankind and the Universe.  Don't you see how He only has guided stars, sun, moon, the planets, winds, oceans, seas, rivers etc.  Is there a separate God for a street, a town, a country, house, a room in a house, for flower, grains, fruits, trees, mountains, oceans, rivers, streams, deserts, stars.. and so on?  If that is the case then, there should be at least 6 billion gods for 6 billion people (6 billion tiny minds can create 6 billion gods, of their choice and imagination, why not?). Now, before death can take you back to Allah, and you cry before Him for not utilizing your only golden chance to believe, obey and serve Him and His Religion Islam, please thank Him for getting this opportunity towards realizing your greatest mistake and rush to read the Holy Qur-an, His Gift and Guidance for all of us.  May God guide us all on His Path and unto success (Aameen).

You are now visiting the page :<What is Adhan?>

God Commands : <So turn thy face toward the Sacred Mosque and (O Muslims), where so ever you may be, turn your faces towards it> Holy Qur-an: Chapter 2: Verse 144.
The Sacred Mosque is in Makkah City and all Muslims must face towards it's direction (to the west) while performing Salah or prayers where ever they are. All acts and beliefs of Islam are having a definite, meaningful background and it needs dedicated learning from the source Books of Islam (Holy Qur-an and Hadith) to know about them.

What is "Azan" or Adhan?

You might have heard a call from the mosques (through out the world), five times a day, regularly.  The five times of prayers are fixed by God.  Dawn (Fajr), Noon (Zuhr), Afternoon (Asr), After the Sun set (Maghrib) and finally In The Evening (about one and a half hour after Maghrib prayer).

Words of Azan (can be called as The International Anthem of Muslims from Japan to America):

Arabic words of Azan Translation in English
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar (twice) Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great
Ash-hadu Allah Ilaha Il-Allah (twice) I bear witness that there is no other object of worship except Allah
Ash-hadu Anna Muhammad-ar-Rasoolullah (twice) I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
Hayya Alass-Salah (twice) Come to Prayer
Hayya Alal Falah (twice) Come to Success
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar (once) Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great
La-Ilaha Il-Allah There is no other object of worship except Allah

Purpose of the Prayer:

It is the Command of Almighty God to Muslims who believe in Him.  He commands:

<O you who believe! When the call is sounded for prayer on Friday (The Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if you but knew!  And when the prayer is ended, disperse abroad in the land and seek of Allah's Grace and Remember Allah that you may be successful> 62:9-10)

Those who do not pray, do they not think?  Why do people not hasten to Mosques? When you call your pet, it responds immediately!  Are they below the pets and animals but still argue that they are the wise, advanced human beings? But man can not run away from God's Call.
God reminds the fact <Say: "The Death from which you flee will truly overtake you:  then will you be sent back to the Knower of things Secret and open:  and He will tell you the things that you did!>   62: 8

Then Can't we do remembrance of Allah at our homes instead of spending the time "unnecessarily".  Those who don't pray think that the Muslims are simply wasting the time, in the offices and during the rush business hours. This is a great economic loss....These Muslims seem to be blockheads!  But if they see that it is God who is commanding the people to obey Him, then is there any other choice?  When God calls a person back to Himself from this world, by giving him death, would he say no to the Angel of God.  Would he forward the excuses of heavy work load, business matters, appointments with businessmen etc.?

When there is earthquake or a fire in any place, people rush to safety to save themselves.  Now if they are called to God, do they deny to respond to go to a mosque?  When there is no room for this, responding to the prayer call is the only option!  Then do you still refuse to rush unto God's house (Mosque) when God calls you?  That means, you refuse to enter His Heaven in the Eternal World? Let us sort out this problem today before death ends the chance to realize the truth from God and make reforms for good.

In the First Commandment, what is the message ?

"And behold, one came and said unto him (Jesus), "Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"  And he said unto him, why callest thou me good?  There is none good but One, that is, God:  But if thou wilt enter into life keep the Commandments" (Mathew 19: 16-17).

"And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, make the two trumpets of silver... that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly.... And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation." (Numbers 10:1- 3).

Speciality of Azan/Adhan:

Have you noticed that when the Azan is announced, the dogs start barking abnormally? Do you see the difference of it's barking when it barks on seeing it's master and a stranger (who tries to enter your property) and when the Azan is said? The Dog barks differently on these three occasions.  Did you ever observe this?

Answer : Final Prophet Muhammad informed us (by the knowledge given to him by God Almighty Allah) : <<When the Azan is said, Satan takes to his heels and while fleeing breaks wind noisily so as not to hear the call being made.  When the Azan is complete, he turns round and again runs away  when the Iqamah is sounded.  On the completion of the Iqamah, he returns to whisper into the heart of man (the worshipper of Allah) to distract his attention; he calls to minds things that cause him to forget how much he has prayed (completed the prayer and how much is balance)>

Syedena Muhammad - The Last Messenger and Prophet of Allah -  said : When you hear a donkey braying or a dog barking, say : <<Awuzu Billahi Minash-shaytanir Rajeem>> which means : <I seek Refuge in Allah from Satan, the Outcast; for it brays when it sees the Satan.  When you hear a cock crow, seek the Bounty of Allah because it crows when it sees the Angel (Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira, the Noble Companion of the Prophet Muhammad-peace be upon him- as recorded in the Hadith Books of Bukhari and Muslim).        Back to Top

If you add together the above two Ahadith (plural of Hadith or the Sayings/actions/approvals/disapprovals/commands etc,  of the Holy Prophet Muhammad), we can understand this: That when a dog barks, he must have seen Satan.  When the Azan is announced and the Satan starts fleeing, immediately the dog starts barking quite abnormally and feverishly because of the scene it is able to see. The animals are not created for a test. So God gave them some knowledge of the things hidden from our eyes.

When the kids see some snake or an abnormal thing, they start shouting and become quite restless.  We would be astonished at this and when we find out why they have been doing this, we will understand the cause of their anxiety.

Though God Almighty Allah has given them the power to see the hidden world which we are unable to see but they don't have power to announce them to us as they He didn't give them such a power.  But God sent us for a test and as you know, in the examination (test) center, when the question paper is given,  answer books are kept away and closed so that you can not use them and pass the  test. Then there is no meaning in the purpose of testing.

But God informed us through His Prophets, all the required in formation to us,  to be successful in this test and be saved from the calamities and dangers of this world and in the Eternal world and get the Salvation there.
