(For Arabic Text of the (original) prayers on different occasions, please refer to Holy Qur'an and any Islamic prayer books).
A number of Prayers for all occasions are taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). But to know their meaning is also as important as memorizing them. Without knowing what we mean or what we require from God, the prayer would be meaningless. God sees what is in your heart; whether you say it loudly or secretly, He knows it. However, Arabic is the language of our Prophet and the language chosen by God for sending His Guidance as in the Holy Qur-an. So it becomes more important for us to study and understand it than knowing our mother tongue or national language. This shows our love for God and His Prophet which is the pre-requisite for the success of an individual or the whole mankind.
What to say when..? (a brief list of prayers applicable to different occasions):
If you have any problem, make your petition before God Almighty Allah and beg from Him Only. Pour your feelings out of your heart and tongue with surety. Praise Allah much and seek His guidance in the matter you want to be solved. Have firm faith in Him and Patience. But important point to remember is that Allah has the right to reserve the reward of our supplications to be given on the Day of Judgement. What He gives, how much He gives, when He gives and whether or not He gives (or accepts) our prayers or supplications is not our Business. It's His authority to decide about such things because He is the Supreme and above all.
God has made known
the ways to seek His Blessings, by teaching us His Chosen and the Holy Scheme, a definite pattern or the
Style of Life through His Final Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) - for the people of his time and for the later generations, until the
Final Day of the World.
Following are some of the
applications for our daily life from the Lessons (Ultimate Etiquettes)
taught by Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h). Obviously Almighty Allah-The only God of all- Blesses those
who say "Yes" to His Words and Plan. But in this world He has given such
worldly wealth and luxuries to those who may not only deny Him but even
hate to hear his Holy Name. Because He knows that all such things are like
a mirage so far as such a person and his / her actions are
concerned. But opposite to such person, there is one who believes
and worships Allah The Only One God of all and follows His Directions,
would convert what ever resources bestowed on him/her by God into the
magnificent gain of the Eternal
World because such a person is sure that he or
she is going to leave this world and live in their Permanent Residence of
the Eternal World after death. There they will get the best results
of their good actions done by following the Directions of Their Lord,
Allah. But the one who failed to see the Truth of this life and did
not uphold Allah's words and commands will be among the worst
losers!
Then how can any one say "No" to His words and His Plan prepared for the well being and success of all human beings, in this world and the Permanent Life after Death? Please don't forget that the world or the Universe belongs to Him and it's only His Plan that is applicable to everything in the Universe because He is the Master of all. It's only Allah who gave the shape, gender and color you have. Yet there are men and women who don't consider Allah as their Creator and God and follow the words of the people who say otherwise. So how can the good words benefit such people? How can their lives be useful for themselves? If you believe God (Almighty Allah) and in His All Embracing Power, then please go ahead with confidence and full faith to see His Blessings reserved for you. All created beings need Him and His Blessings. Who says, then, that he /she doesn't need Allah nor His Blessings?
Note: All original text of the prayers (supplications) are in Arabic. However one is expected to know what they mean so that prayers are (more) effective. There is no harm if one uses his/her mother tongue for supplicating to God Almighty Allah.

If not, read this event which happened during the time of God's final Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) - about 1,400 years before in the desert land of Arabia:
(The event is quoted from the Hadith Book which contains the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad by his noble companions. They memorized, recorded and discussed the Ahadith (plural of Hadith) of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) so that they could gain and spread the Holy knowledge of God's Religion. In fact, they ardently applied them in their daily lives).
<One Friday a man entered the mosque
when the Holy Prophet was delivering his sermon. The man shouted
:
“O Messenger of
Allah! Our beasts and cattle have died of
drought. All sources of water have been exhausted. Pray to
Allah (God Almighty) to send us rain. The Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace be
upon him and his progeny) raised his hand to the sky and said
:

O Allah, send us rain….”
(From "Al-Bukhari" Hadith Book- Ranked No.1 after Holy Qur'an-The
Book of God).
The narrator of this event, Anas –the noble servant and companion of the Holy Prophet says: “By Allah, there was not a single cloud, not even a piece of it on the sky. There was no house or anything intervening between us and the valley of Sala. We perceived that, from behind this valley, rose a flake of cloud looking like a shield. When it reached the middle of the sky, it spread and rain began to fall. Then we did not see the face of the sun for seven days".
Next Friday the same man entered the mosque while the Holy Prophet was delivering his sermon. He stood in front of him and said in a loud voice :
"O Messenger of Allah! Our beasts and cattle are dying and all the ways have been blocked. Pray to Allah that the rain should cease.” The Holy Prophet raised his hands and recited this prayer. The narrator says that the rain stopped at once and we went out to bask in the sun” (Bukhari & Muslim).
God taught us How to Pray unto Him, In His Final Book-Al Qur'an. Also you will find the prayers of Final Prophet and Messenger of God- Syedina Muhammad in the Hadith Books like "Bukhari, Muslim, Thirmidhi, Ibne Maja, Abu Dawood, Muwatta etc. God gave Books to the Previous Prophets, namely, Moosa(Moses), Dawood (David) and Isa (Jesus-The Predecessor of the Final Prophet Muhammad)- peace be upon them all.
As you
may be knowing, that when Prophet Dawood (David) who was also one of the
Kings of Bani Israel (Israeli Tribes) used to recite the Psalms
(Zaboor)-The Book of God, Hymning the Praises of Almighty Allah, the
birds and animals used to gather around because Prophet Dawood was given
by God, the knowledge of their language. His son, Prophet Sulaiman
or Solomon also knew the language of the birds and animals and He had
power over the winds and the Genie. Genies did different works
for him. (for more information, please read
chapter no.27 of Holy
Qur'an)
The Prayers when they come from the pure, sincere heart, directed to the Giver
and Creator of All Things, God Almighty Allah, they are sure to be
answered, either in this world or a True Believer of Allah, he or she will
get the reward of this prayer (delayed) in the Eternal World.
Because, there are so many things we ask for. But God knows the
Best-which is required for us in this world (and not harmful to us, if it
is granted to us in this world). Therefore He grants to us in this world,
that which is good and safe for us in His Judgement.
The words taught by God can make
marvels, if God willed. For example, what we use in the computer language or programming,
they are also words, letters, symbols, which are taught by God to man
through His Brain and wisdom. When man came to this world he brought
nothing with him or her. He/she (the baby) is always dependent on
his mother for milk, cleaning and washing, etc. Then is he/she not
dependent on God for his/her requirements?
Now we
can learn a lot of Holy and Effective Words taught to us by God and His
Prophet Muhammad (The Teacher of Mankind). These words act like a link between
God and us.
God Almighty Allah is the Creator of all things. Therefore He only knows the full details of all things. Nothing is hidden from Him. He only can provide us with the clues and answers to the problems we face. Whether the Problems are related to an individual or a society or the world as a whole, He alone can solve this without any trouble.
Words have great effect and
impact. Like, if a king commands something, his army and
servants will do it for him. What is that which makes this impact?
It’s only the words or command of the King and nothing
else.

If God commands
something then it must be having a result. The commands or Guidance
of God is in the Text form in His own Book-Al Qur’an. The Holy words
of God shall not fail.
Therefore one can be rest assured about the solution for his/her own
problems. God Almighty Allah Himself runs the affairs of the Universal
System. Therefore our problems are nothing for Him. And all
things are easy for Him. Therefore we can depend on Him Alone, fully
satisfied.

“Sufficient is Allah (who is) the best Guardian.”
(when Prophet Ibrahim or Abraham (peace be upon him), was thrown into fire by the idol worshipper King of Iraq, he sought Allah’s help with the above words).
Prophet Ayyub or Job’s story and his problems solved
:-
According to Ibn Ishaaq he was a man of Rum (Rome). His name was Job, son of Mose, son of Razeh, son of Esau, son of Isaac, son of Abraham (peace be upon them all). Satan became annoyed with Job's noble qualities and worship of God Almighty Allah and he schemed an evil plan to deprive Job (peace be upon him) of God's favors (wealth, children, land etc) and see now, how he would be devastated and could hardly do the worship of God and noble deeds in the same way as he used to do, before all these calamities came upon him and his family.
Allah has given power to Iblis or Satan and God tests man through him (his temptations and other wicked, destructive activities done against mankind). If man sticks to God's worship and remains as a staunch devotee, being bold and patient against all such calamities, Satan will be defeated and God will reward such a person enormously. His lost property would be restored and even increased manifold. Same thing happened to Job.
Satan plotted and thus he was able to destroy Job's cattle, servants and farms until there remained nothing for him and his family. Even then Job did not change the kind of worship he used to do and he remained as grateful to God as before. Then Satan tries another trick. He plans to destroy his children. To complete this plan, he shook the foundation of the house where job's children were living, crashing the building and causing their death. But Job remained as devoted to Almighty Allah, as before without complaining about the misfortunes fallen on him and his family. Then Satan tries to destroy his health and body. He was afflicted with a disease and he lost his strength and health, suffering with severe pain. All his friends and close relatives deserted him but his wife stayed back attending to him. But finally she also could not have patience and bear with the years of suffering. She succumbed to Satan's scheme and deserted him. Job prayed to God Almighty Allah as God informs us in the Holy Qur'an :
<Verily distress has seized me and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show Mercy> So We (Almighty Allah) answered his call and We removed the distress that was on him and We restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them-as a Mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all those who worship Us> Chapter 21:Verses 83-84.
Allah prescribed him the following
medicine (solution) and he regained his lost heath: <And remember Our
Slave Job when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Satan has touched me
with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my
wealth)!" Allah said to him:
"Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring water to
wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." And We gave him (back) his family
and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us and a reminder
for those who understand> 38:41-43.
Some of the prayers said by himself and taught to us by our Last Prophet Mohammad(s):-
They must be utilized to our fullest benefit, irrespective of whether we have any problems or not? Because Prayers are essence of a faithful, sincere, grateful servant of God Almighty Allah; from the servant to the Master. The Master does not need anyone or anything, because He existed, since infinity, without a beginning, when we or any one was not there except Allah, the God of All. Therefore, the truth is that, we need Him, like we need oxygen to breathe and be alive, nay! even more than that!
Prayers for all occasions:
You will find a lot of supplications in the Books of Islamic Prayers. A few of them are given below for the benefit of all people around the world.:
Following prayers are to be
uttered during a war
or any other situation of fear or danger:
<O master of the Day of Judgment, Only thee do I worship and only Thine aid do I seek>
It has been narrated in the books of Hadith or Traditions that in a war in which he himself participated the holy Prophet uttered this prayer. Hazrat Anas, the companion of the Prophet says that after he had said this prayer, he saw that a host of angels was routing the enemy soldiers.
One more
supplication of Prophet Muhammad is as follows:
“O Allah! We make Thee our shield against them and seek refuge in Thee from their mischief.”
Abu Moosa Ash’ari – a companion of the Prophet says that when the Prophet of Allah had any fear from a people, he would say this (above) prayer.
“There is no god but Allah, the Fore-bearing, the Generous, Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Seven Heavens and Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no God but thou. Who came under thy protection is mighty (strong) and Thy praise is Glorious.”
(Abdullah bin Umar –son of Umar-the
second caliph of Islam, says <The Holy Prophet once said to
me:
<When
you are afraid of a ruler or anything else, say this prayer>
“Sufficient is Allah (who is) the best Guardian."
How to control
your anger? :
Say this prayer: <I seek
refuge in Allah from Satan, the stoned>” And also note the following
:
Sulaiman bin Surd (one of the noble companions of Final Prophet Muhammad) says: <I was sitting with the Holy Prophet when two men began to abuse each other. The face of one flushed with rage. The Holy Prophet (saw this and said): <I know of a word, which if he utters, his anger will subside, (and it is as mentioned above)…If he had said this, his anger would have departed from him. (Bukhari, Muslim)**
Another Method:
Atiyah bin Urwah (one of the noble companions of the Final Prophet Muhammad) reports the Holy Prophet as saying: <Anger is promoted by Satan who has been created from fire; so when any one of you gets angry, he (or she) should perform Wudu (Ablution; a simple purification procedure using clean water taking only a couple of minutes, done by muslims before reading Holy Qur’an or Prayers). <According to another tradition, the Holy Prophet instructed that a person who is over-powered by anger should sit down if he was standing, and lie down if he was sitting>
(Now if you have seen, if a person
would be sitting down and some one incites him and makes him angry, the
person would get up from his seat as anger overpowers him. Also in
some Parliaments when a hot debate is going on, any outraged member gets
up with anger and speaks, is directed by the Speaker or Chairman to
sit and calm down. Therefore, to control anger, opposite of standing
posture i.e. sitting is quite correct. Here don’t forget to note that,
what Prophet Mohammad informed and instructed is nothing but what God
informed him; applicable to all times. How beautiful and
beneficial are Prophet Mohammad’s teachings!)

Are you sometimes overwhelmed by
feelings of terror and anxiety for unknown reasons? Then say
this prayer:
“Glory be to Allah! The Sovereign
and the Most Holy, the Lord of the Angels and Jibreel (Gabriel), Thou hast
covered the heavens and the earth with Glory and Might.”
<Bara bin Azib has narrated that a person complained to the Holy
Prophet (peace be upon him) that he was usually overwhelmed with a feeling of
terror. The Prophet instructed him to say this prayer.
When the man started saying it, Allah dispelled from his heart
the feeling of anxiety and
fright>
Has anyone of you lost the
job? Or are
you in search of a job? Or have you received a letter of lay-off?
Here is the
solution:
“O
Allah! Make me contented with sustenance Thou hast given me, and bless me
in it, and grant me a better substitute for everything that is to
disappear.”
“O
Allah! I beg of Thee (all) good whose treasures are in Thy hand, and seek
Thy protection from (all) evil whose treasures are in Thy hand.”
“I beg
Allah’s forgiveness. There is no god but He, the Alive, the Eternal, and
to Allah do I turn in repentance.”
The above supplications must be repeated quite often, as much as possible directed towards God Almighty Allah with deep real feelings.
Special Note:
Some people who worship others (who are really nothing but the slaves of Almighty Allah, like they are) mislead mankind when they say that they visited such and such grave of a holy man or they vowed to such and such deity (stone, tree, or in the name of a holy man etc) and their prayer was answered! Beware of all such dangerous things! God Almighty Allah has informed us that all prayers are answered by Him alone irrespective of whether they believe or disbelieve in Him. There is none to give.
If that is not sufficient for you to believe, then take this example: When you join a work, your owner or the company you work for, would provide for you a cabin as your office- for your work, a table, chair, telephone, car, etc, depending upon your nature of work. But if they kick you out, even if you were a manager and that you might have appointed during your tenure, due to the power vested in you by the Company, quite a lot of people as employees of the Company, but now you will not be allowed to possess anything you were given or claim ownership on them. You can't even demand any charges or favors from the people you had appointed because it was part of your official duty.
All the powers and things you had been using will be given to a new comer as it was the case with you when you joined in the past. So, the point and moral here to understand is that no person is bigger or smaller and Allah is the Boss of all who has arranged the system of His Creation (Universe) where in different people, different creatures and different things are performing the duties given to them. If He denies Allah and does not worship Him, the accountability of those actions will be on the Day of Judgement and he or she will pay dearly for this Terrible and irreparable mistake.
Man runs for his livelihood and for the sake of his family during whole day and rests at night, continues the process of regeneration of mankind by marriage and looking after his wife and children - all these are due to the duties assigned to each and everyone by Almighty God Allah Himself. Therefore all our prayers, supplications, worship and sacrifice must be directed unto Him only. Any deviation from this, is out rightly rejected by Him.
Do you understand now?

Allah Answers the prayers of all people and He grants some in this world to His Believers and Grateful Servants (who do not do "shirk" or joining anything or anyone as Allah's partner). He deposits or reserves the balance to be granted as a reward in the Eternal World on the Day of Judgement. This is not so with Kafirs (Disbelievers) and Mushriks (The Polytheists) because they deny Allah and seek favors from others; and they have rejected the Promise of Allah regarding the Day of Judgement, The Eternal World, Heaven and Hell. They don't expect anything from Him for their next world though it is permanent. So, God gives them in this world itself and no share will they have in the Bliss of the Heaven. They have by their own choice chosen the option of Hell by refusing to Enter Heaven of Allah or in other words they have rejected the Invitation of God unto Heaven by disbelieving in Him and His Words. Thus they make the Greatest irreparable loss unto themselves in this world and in the Permanent Life after Death!
“O Allah!
Lord of the Heavens and whereupon they cast their
shadows and Lord of the earths and of that which they
bear, and Lord of the Devils and that which they send astray. Be my
protector against the evil of all Thy creatures lest anyone of them
do me any wrong or rebel against me. One who enjoys Thy Protection
is honored and Thy praise is Glorified. There is no god other than Thee
and there is no
god but
Thee.”
<Khalid Bin Walid –the
Legendary Islamic Commander complained of sleeplessness to the Holy
Prophet Mohammad (peace be
upon him), who advised him to utter this prayer on
going to bed>(Tirmidhi).
What do they really mean?
<It has
been narrated by Abu Qatadah that he heard the messenger of Allah as
saying that the pleasant dreams
are from Allah and the perplexing dreams are from Satan.
If any one happens to wake up from a terrifying dream, he should blow or
spit turning his face towards the left and utter these words*. He
should then change his side in his bed. This will render him (or her) safe
against the harmful effects of the dream>
Are you frightened in your
dream? Say this prayer:
*“I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His wrath and His punishment, from the evils of men, from the insinuations of Satans, lest they encroach upon me.”
And Also the following supplication:" I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast>
Abdullah bin Omar says that the Holy Prophet taught his companions to recite these words when any one of them got frightened in a dream.

What was the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) when he was thrown into the fire by idol worshipper king of Iraq? <“Sufficient is Allah for us, (who is) the best Guardian”>(Holy Qur’an).
<Prophet Ibrahim sought Allah’s help by these glorious words, which is taught by Allah for all people in the Holy Qur’an as a solution while in difficulty or facing any other problems. Allah will save anyone who makes this prayer from the bottom of the heart with His real love and full faith in Him, like Prophet Ibrahim has shown to us>
Prayers
for the people afflicted with sorrow and
distress:
Following
was the prayer of Prophet Zun'noon( Jonah or Yunus) when he was in the
stomach of the fish. God inspired him to utter
this prayer and thus he was liberated from this
calamity.
<“There is no god except Thee. Glory be to Thee. Verily I am of those who have wronged themselves”>
Prophet Younus was ordered to call people to Islam-The Religion of God Almighty, in the Nineveh City of Iraq as per Prophetic Mission given to him by God. But he decided to abandon this job for fear of people and chose to go to other place. But while traveling by a ship, they faced foul weather which subsided only after the lots were drawn and the person on whom it fell was thrown out. It came to his lot and he was thrown in to the river (Tigris) by the Sailors. Those people were superstitious and they thought their ill luck was due to a fugitive slave running away from his Master. But it turned out to be true, in the sense, a slave of God (Jonah) was surely running away from the Command of God.
Then a Big Fish swallowed him but it did not do any harm to him as God Protected him and he duty was still pending related to God given Prophetic Mission. After 3 days in the belly of the Fish, God delivers him.
God taught him the above supplication which is useful for all of us who are sinners, or who are having any trouble and difficulties in the life and want to be delivered from such situations. Now the situation had changed in Nineveh after the Prophet had left them in anger for not listening to his preaching. But after he left them, they sensed that some calamity would befall them for denying the Prophet of Allah. They started praying ardently to Allah to save them and not punish them like the previous communities who were destroyed utterly for denying their respective Prophets sent for their Guidance, Obedience and Worship of Allah, whose events were in circulation among them. Because they were the successors of those people, they could see the ruins of their towns and cities, their homes and gardens, which they had left behind. When Prophet Jonah returned to Nineveh, they accorded him a great reception and all became Muslims by accepting him immediately as Allah's Prophet sent for them.

The Sure Path of Loss or shall we call it 'The Loss Making Business'? : <Now there are people who spend lot of money, time and energy to spread the word that Jesus -Son of Maryam-Peace be upon them (the Prophet of Allah who came about 600 years before the Final Prophet Muhammad-peace be upon him) is the only salvation and one must believe in him as the son of God and secondly, he was crucified for the sake of salvation of all mankind and the theory of Trinity etc. But you will be horrified to know the truth by the above great calamity faced by the Prophet Jonah and the people of his town who became Moslems. As a Prophet of God who lived long back Jesus (one of about 124,000 prophets of Allah) came into this world, Jonah cried to God Allah alone (As Allah is the Master and all are His Slaves only), for Help as he knew none can deliver him from this great problem, except Almighty God Allah.
The Only way of Salvation approved by our Creator for all
mankind:
Therefore if anyone wants
his/her salvation in the Eternal World (exemption from punishment of Hell
Fire) and liberation from any worldly problems, there is the only way through the
pure words taught by Allah only which does not contain any
words or beliefs related to paganism or falsehood. God is The
Truth and He does not teach us untruth. In His
Religion (The Supreme Law), all
are His slaves and He is the Only One Sovereign Lord and the Master (of
all). There is not a single creature or a
person, above this status and if anyone claims that he or she is
not a slave or servant of Allah (or a creature created by God Almighty
Allah and completely dependent on Allah for all necessities of living and
existence), then such a person is a liar and deceiver
and God’s Utterly destructible
punishment awaits for him or her in the next world once the exam or test
of this world ends by the visit of death.
In the Olympics for example,
one would not get a gold medal by breaking the
rules and regulations of the game, rather one would be honored due to the
mere fact that he or she has abided completely by
the rules and come on top of other participants. Any person trying to cheat or bypass the rules, if and
when found guilty by the authorities concerned, will be stripped of
his/her honor, medals etc. But in the
Case of God, He knows very well that who is a cheat and fraudster before
the world can know. Therefore there does not arise a question of
Jesus having brought about such corrupt practices and words into the
Religion and Book of God. He is not a party to this false propaganda waged
by the Missionaries. Actually they are helping Satan to lead
people away from God Almighty (as Satan was the one who had played his
evil trick on Adam and Eve-our first parents by inciting to do such act
forbidden by God, by giving them false promises of a permanent life
and stay in the Heaven and immortality. He incited them by saying that Allah
had prevented them from eating the forbidden fruit to prevent them from
become immortals lest they stay permanently in the
Heaven).
There is no salvation in such ways and words which are not approved by God nor His Previous Prophets.

God Almighty Allah teaches us the truth, in the Holy
Qur-an :
<Verily We belong
to Allah and to Him is our return>
<The Messenger of Allah said:
“Say these words at the
loss of everything however small, be it even
shoe-laces> as
above....
And pray like this to Almighty God- Allah, with
true emotions. And yet we have other prayers like:-
“O Allah! Lord of the Lost, guide to the
misguided one; Thou guideth from deviation to the right path. Restore to
me my lost thing
through Thy Glory and Might, for it was Thy gift and Thy
favour.”
“O gatherer of the people on the Day which is sure to come, restore to me my lost thing.”
(these prayers may be said even to the relatives whose whereabouts are unknown and there is no other way to find out- whether they are alive in any unknown place.
True Story of two sons of
Adam - The First Man and First Prophet of Allah-Abel (Habel) and Cain
(Qabil)- (refer to Holy Qur'an Chapter No.5 Verses 27 -
32)
Adam’s son killed his own brother. That was the first murder of a human being on the earth. So, it was unknown to man what to do with the dead person’s body. He carried it over his shoulders, until God sent His guidance in the following way. God Himself explains, in the Holy Qur’an:
<The (Selfish) Soul of the other
led him to the murder of his brother: he murdered him and became
(himself) one of the lost ones. Then
Allah sent a raven (a black bird) who
scratched the ground, to show him how to hide
the naked body of his brother. "Woe is me!" said he; "Was I not even
able to be as this raven and to hide the naked body of my brother?" Then
he became full of regrets.> 5:30, 31.
At last he
regretted! But here we see in
today's world, those who declare utter falsehood against Jesus and
Muhammad-the Prophets of God Almighty Allah but still do not regret. They
Crucify Jesus daily even though God declared that Jesus was not
crucified. As you know, Prophet Muhammad is the Final Prophet of God
and He continued the Mission of all the previous Prophets of God.
His
mission also included apart from teaching the comprehensive and final
version of God's Religion 'Al-Islam, to clear all doubts and
falsehood propagated against Jesus and his Mother Maryam-The Virgin (May
Allah Bless them both and have Mercy on them).
There are lot of supplications of the Prophet which can be found in any reliable Islamic Book related to the Prayers (supplications) of the Prophet. Holy Qur'an gives us a number of such supplications of different Prophets of God. Let us make best use of these words of God and the Prophet to improve our condition and get the best out of our life and get Salvation.
Allah's Declaration in the Holy Qur'an:<If there were a Qur'an (or a speech) with which mountains were moved or the earth were cloven asunder or the dead were made to speak (This would be the one!) But, truly, the Command is with Allah in all things!....>
Ch.13, Verse 31.
This means even if we recite Holy Qur'an, it will not automatically cause anything to happen unless God willed because all authority rests with God and His Will and Decree are necessary to bring about certain thing into existence or for a change. The words of Holy Qur'an (even though are God's own) are means to get God's Guidance, His Blessings and Mercy.

What to say when..?
Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) taught us the remembrance of God and the way to do it, by way of saying Prayers at all occasions of our daily life. If followed properly, the daily 24 hours life of a Believer of God and His Prophet, becomes a complete cycle of worship of God. He and his (her) life can be seen from the example of the atoms which revolve on their axis around the nucleus in a molecule, at all times following their fixed path which is set for them by the Creator God-Allah alone.
What to Say when doing the
following acts: On Getting up in the
Morning:
<All Praises belong
to Allah Who has restored us to life after causing us to die. Towards Him
is the Resurrection>
Prayer to be said in the
morning:
<O Allah! With Your help
do we enter upon the morning and with Your help do we enter upon the
evening. With Your Grace do we live and with Your Decree do we die
and to You is the final return>
Prayer to be said in the evening: <O
Allah! We enter upon the evening and we enter upon the morning with Your
help. With Your Grace do we live and with Your Decree do we
die. And finally to You shall be the Resurrection>
If you want no harm to befall you, say this prayer 3 times each, morning and evening :< I begin my work with the name of Allah. His Name is so auspicious that no harm can befall ( person) on the earth and the heaven. He hears all things and knows all things>
<Before going to bed : <In Your Name, O Allah! I shall die and in Thy Name I shall live>
What to say when..?
Setting out of the house:<In the name of Allah, I start. I place my trust in Allah. There is neither power nor strength except in Allah> And when ever the Holy Prophet left his house, he would raise his eyes towards heaven and say this prayer<O Allah! I seek thy Protection from going astray or being led astray or slipping into error or being slipped into it or from doing injustice (to others) or falling a victim to the injustice of others or from ignorant or being treated with ignorance>
What to say when..?
Also, Prophet Muhammad used to say 'Ayat-Ul-Kursi' (The Verse of The Throne) before going to bed. Any person who says this is protected by God by appointment of His angel to guard him/her against Satan and his insinuations till day-break.
On entering the
Mosque: <O Allah! Open to me the doors of Your Mercy>
And
when leaving the mosque:<O Allah!I beg to You, for Your
Bounty>
While starting eating of food: Bismillah (In Arabic) which means in English-<In the Name of Allah (I start eating)> If you forget this what will you do? Say : Bismillahi Awwalahu Wa Akhirahu (means: In the Name of Allah, the first part of it and the Last Part of it). Satan makes man forget saying the name of Allah before eating. Because now Satan is out of the Heaven where he once lived as before becoming Satan and Accursed by Allah, he used to be a noble Genie, being Allah's devout servant. But he became arrogant upon seeing the position of man with God and became jealous (man has been made as Allah's viceroy on the earth). That prompted him to do the evil act against man and God for which he was expelled from Heaven and he lost his free food, free accommodation and all the luxuries of the Heaven of God Almighty Allah. Now he does not have food. So, he wants to eat from our portion (he is like a parasite). But he can't eat from the food on which Allah's Holy Name has been mentioned. So he makes us forget saying Allah's name on it (and we the believers of Allah do not eat any meat of even Halal category animals slaughtered by Kafirs (disbelievers) of Islam and that on which Allah's name is not mentioned while slaughtering it even though a muslim did it.
Whatever Satan touches, is spoiled. If he touches any person, he will become mad. Such is the touch of Satan. So, if he touches any food, there will be no blessings for the consumers of it from Almighty Allah. There are some leaves in the wilderness, if touched on the skin of a person, will give him very irritating or burning effect. Then is it not true that Satan's touch could make more harmful effect on mankind? So all of us always must make efforts by following Allah's guidelines (do's and don'ts) to keep ourselves untouched by him by getting the Protection of Allah.
Before entering the bathroom: <O Allah! I beg of thee (an abode in) the Paradise and seek refuge in Thee from the (Hell) Fire>
What to say when..?
When seeing the Thunder:< And the thunder celebrates His Praises and so do the angels within awe of Him> (Holy Qur'an :13:
<O Allah! Do not kill us with Your wrath and do not destroy us with Your Torture. Take us in Your Protection before such a (catastrophic) happening>
Prayer recited by the Holy Prophet Muhammad on seeing a wind storm: <O Allah! I beg You the good of this (wind) and the good of that which has been sent therewith. And I seek refuge in You from its evil and evil of that which is therein and evil of that which has been sent therewith>
What to do when there are Solar and Lunar Eclipses :Muhammad- The Prophet of Allah has instructed us : "The sun and the moon do not suffer an eclipse on account of the death or birth of a person. When you see them eclipsed, remember Allah, magnify Him and give alms> (for these acts avert disaster and tribulation).
Prayers on seeing a cloud: <O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of that which is therein> Here we should remember the plight of the disbelieving folk of Prophet Noah, who challenged him to bring God's Punishment because they did not believe in Islam-the Religion of God. When they saw the black clouds, they were happy that it will bring abundant rain. But instead, it was the very punishment from God which they were inviting and it rained for 40 days destroying all but the poor muslim (believing) followers of Prophet Noah, from whom all people, whether in America, Europe, Japan, China, Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand, Russia or Korea live today. Can't they see the truth and return to the right path of their ancestors? >
<O Allah! Make it a refreshing and profitable downpour>
What to say when..?
On wearing a garment:<All praise belongs to Allah Who clothed me in this garment and provided me therewith, without any ability or power on my part> (reward in this prayer: Whosoever on putting on a garment says this prayer, all his (her) past sins and future are forgiven (Saying of the Prophet).
When you halt at a place during journey-to be saved from any harm from anyone or anything, say : <I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil that He has created>
Before entering the market: < With the name of Allah (I enter the Market). O Allah! I beg of Thee the good of this market and the good of that which is therein; and I seek Your Protection from the evil of this Market and the evil of that which is therein. O Allah! I seek Your Protection lest I take a false oath or strike a losing bargain>
What to say when..?
Prayer for attaining good Knowledge:
<O Allah! Benefit me by that which You have taught me and teach me that which will benefit me and provide me that knowledge which benefits me> <O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a heart that knows no humility, from the knowledge that yields no profit, from a soul that is never satisfied and from a prayer that is not answered>
At the time of Riding an Animal (now a days, mostly, we use vehicles unlike in the past and the same prayers are to be recited):<I ride in the name of Allah> <All Praises are unto Allah> <Glory be to Him Who has subdued this (beast or vehicle) to us, though we were unable to bring it under our control; and we return to our Lord>
Setting out on a journey: <O Allah! We beg of Thee in this journey of ours goodness and piety and a conduct You will be pleased with. O Allah! Make this journey of ours easy for us and roll up for us its distance. You are our Companion in this journey and our Guardian in our household. O Allah! I seek refuge in you from the toil of this journey, from seeing a bad sight and having a reverse in my fortune and household>
After returning from a journey: <We are returnees (to Allah), penitents, worshippers and adorers of our Lord.>
What to say when..?
Subduing the naughty Kids and Children? Read the following:
<Will they now seek a new Religion abandoning the
Religion of Allah, while every creature in the heavens and on the earth is
willy nilly subservient to Him and to Him shall they all return> (Holy
Qur'an).
The above Verse of the Holy Qur'an can even be tried to subdue such children, who refuse to drink milk (take food etc), show disobedience to parents.. The verse of the Holy Qur'an (in Arabic) should be recited in their ears. This can be used to subdue the riding animals as well.
Prayers for Rain: <Ask forgiveness from your Lord. Verily He is the Most Forgiving. He will send down upon you torrents from the sky> Chapter Nuh : Verses 10-11.
<O Allah! Send us rain to drink, relieving, soaking, profitable, harmless, immediate and not deferred> <O Allah! Quench the thirst of Your men and beasts and spread Your Mercy all around and give new life to Your dead town>
Prayers to be recited for getting Livelihood and driving away poverty:<I beg Allah's forgiveness. There is no god but He, the Alive, the Eternal and to Allah do I turn in repentance> This should also be recited before going to bed for the forgiveness of sins.
To get rid of indebtedness: <O Allah! Let Your lawful sustenance suffice me against unlawful sustenance and make me by Your Grace, independent of every one except You>
To seek protection from the evil eyes of Genies (Jinns) and men: Please read the last two chapters ('Al- Muawwazzatain') i.e. No.113 & 114. The effect of the evil eyes is real if some one or something is not protected by God Almighty Allah. The verses of the above chapters can also be used for blowing upon (after recital) on children or any person having any pain and illness.
If you come across a bad omen, never bother about that: Just Say: <O Allah! None can bring good consequences except You and none can keep off evil consequences except You. There is no power or strength but with Allah>
If a person who has something good, should say:<O Allah! Bless us in this> May be you just bought a nice thing, like a car or a house etc. So you may take too much pride in this. But you should ask for Allah's Blessings in your belongings and whatever you possess (even if it is your own beautiful body, color, voice, money, knowledge etc). This is, if he suspects that the thing will come under the harmful effects of his own eyes, he/she would say as above.
What to say when..?
A person seeing a goodly thing (belonging to others) should say :<Allah's will (be done): There is no power but with Allah>
Spiritual Cure for Pain and Sickness:<O Allah! Lord of Mankind! Remove this trouble and heal! You are the Healer. There is no healing but thy healing that will leave behind no sickness.> <<Prophet Muhammad used to say this prayer and rub his (patients) body with his right hand>>
The following spiritual treatment was suggested by Prophet Muhammad to one of his companions who complained of a very old pain: <I seek refuge in the Glory and Power of Allah from the evil of that which I experience and that which I fear> Method of application: Place your right hand on the painful spot; mention Allah's name 3 times and repeat this prayer 7 times.
What to say when..?
When you visit a patient, what to pray for his / her cure : <I beseech Allah, the Glorious, Lord of the Magnificent Throne that He may cure you and restore your health> Said the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):" If a person goes to inquire after the health of a patient and says this prayer 7 times for his recovery, Allah will cure him (her) of his illness if he (she) be not already at death's door. (women visitors would do so for a female patient as men are not allowed into women's area of living etc); God's command is to respect and safeguard the dignity and chastity of women and themselves. A man can do so for his wife, mother, daughter, sister, mother's sister, father's sister and his grand mothers among some other specified relatives.
On seeing Fire, say:<Allahu Akbar> meaning : Allah is the Greatest; as this declaration of Greatness of Allah extinguishes the fire.
On hearing the Braying of a Donkey and the Barking of a Dog:<I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast> The reason is mentioned by the Prophet Muhammad. When dog or a donkey sees the Satan they bark or bray. Satan is visible to animal world because they are not created for a test of life. And as they don't have a tongue to explain, it remains as a secret. Moreover, it is we who have been sent by God on the earth for a test and He has kept hidden from us such things which are not good for us nor the benefit us. You might have observed the dog barking when there is the announcement of Azan prayer call from a mosque (daily five times) as Satans run away to such a long distance as to avoid listening to the call of God's worship announced from the Mosque.
What to say when..?

When does a cock crow? :< When you hear a cock crow, seek the Bounty of Allah (God) because it crows when it sees the angel (as per the saying of the Prophet Muhammad).

What to do when a baby is born: Say 'Adhan' in the right ear and 'Iqamat' in the left ear of the baby. This child would be immune from convulsions. (know more about Azan)

Before starting intercourse with wife, say this prayer:
< In the Name of Allah (do I perform this act). O Allah! Safeguard us from the Satan and keep from the devil away whatever You have bestowed upon us> The child born in this way, will be safe from Satan's evil plots.
<O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the foul male and female devils>
(Muhammad- final Prophet of God Almighty Allah has informed us that devils-male and female frequent the closets. We must be saved from their evils. So the above prayer helps us to get Allah's Protection)
Therefore we must seek Allah's protection from such evil spirits. Don't you seek God's protection if you were to be sent inside the cage of a tiger or lion; won't you start seeing death in front of you? In this way, we can realize now that seeking Allah's help from unseen enemies and evil forces is more important as we don't know them and what harm they can do to us! But Allah sees all things and knows all things and He only can control them and save us from their evil plots!
<Praise be to Allah Who relieved me from the suffering and gave me relief> Now see the beauty and wisdom of this prayer! We might have seen people who are admitted to hospital and had to spend enormous money because they can not urinate properly or breathe properly. Now in the Hospital, they are connected to such costly manmade equipments just to relieve them of urine and breathing trouble. Before it was quite naturally done. Now they need doctor and nurses to do this simple act. We all must thank Allah for His Unlimited Grace on us (May God Almighty Allah save us from such misfortunes).
Did you ever think about this?: That an enemy aims at the heart of a person while shooting with a gun to kill his target. Heart is the soft and vital target. When death comes, heart will stop. Satan aims on man's heart to trap him. He keeps on attacking human heart because his purpose is to lead man to loss, destruction, sadness, agony and finally after death to Hell Fire. But Allah who Created us has given us His Protection. For Him nothing is a problem. Like we protect our body from cold, rain, fire and other harms, we must use Holy Qur-an, if we want protection from Satan. His career and future is already doomed because he is cursed by Allah and banished from the Heaven forever. But then do you let your heart to be attacked by this invisible enemy? Do you listen to his insinuations or suggestions and follow his way leading to Hell or follow Allah's Final Book -Al-Qur'an-which leads to Heaven to live there happily forever?
When a person is told about some loss in business or sudden death of one of his friends or family members, then doesn't that effect his heart, immediately change his behavior and mood? Will he not stop thinking about other businesses and rush to do what he is expected to do? Then what kind of a person, he/she is, when the Holy Qur-an is read before him/her but still they don't think and do what is expected of them for their own good? Or some one explains to them about the future news related to them as told by God Almighty Allah in the Holy Qur-an, then no effect is caused on them (their hearts)! Can you imagine how strongly Satan has bonded them under his slavery?
